The Salon du Patrimoine familial à Laurier Québec, held on February 22, 23 and 24, 2013, is an event rich in culture that allows to learn more about the history and the heritage, while facilitating the meeting between the organizations and the population.
It was also an opportunity for our Association to have a good visibility and the opportunity to meet people really interested in their origins.
The Salon was under the theme of the 350th anniversary of the departure of France and the arrival in New France of the Filles du Roy (1663-1673). Mrs. Irène Belleau made us aware of the history of these women who arrived in New France.
In the great family of the Prou, Proulx, Proust, the ancestor Pierre Prou, son of Louis and Suzanne Male, signed a marriage contract before the notary Larue on November 7th, 1669 with a Filles du Roy, Marie Gauthier, daughter of Louis and Jeanne Toreau Of St-Roch of Paris.
From August 7 to 11, 2013 at the New France Festival, we must not miss the landing of the first 36 Filles du Roy who arrived in 1663.
